The website of the artist Jacek Stachowski offers a space for the presentation of his work. The featured portrait paintings are arranged like a playing card set. This way visitors can approach them from a completely different point of view.
The homepage has a special feature. On a computer screen, scrolling is horizontal. Visitors see the portrait paintings side by side, as if they were in an exhibition space.
Portraits that have caught the visitors’ attention can be viewed in more detail with a single click. Art experts can activate the magnifying tool and find out more about the painting technique in the picture caption.
Eech page has an individual navigation bar with sections that are shown or hidden depending on their relevance. Clicking on the ”Child Portaits” section opens a new page with an overview of the child portait paintings. On the page, visitors can switch easily between the single picture view and the overview by clicking on the navigation bar.
